Jonas gets the definite sense that Sir Francois fears the Red Witch. Sir Francois clasps his hands together, squeezing them tight, his voice is strained when he replies, I don't think much about such things as whether Sir Godarte or whoever is acting within the confines of Church law. It is not my place to make such decisions. You should talk to Bishop Damon himself if you wish to know such things. Now, on other matters, I'm looking for a suitable wife. Do you have any suggestions? Well, don't let me keep you from the King's company. Until tomorrow. Sir Francois bows and turns sharply on his heel and walks out of the room. Sir Aedvar breathes a sigh of relief and looks even happier when the first of the guards arrive moments later.

Jonas acknowledges the bow and waits for Sir Francois to leave. He then turns to Sir Aedvar, I'll recommend some lesser nobles with little dowry or possibly even poverty stricken for Sir Francois. I still have not met fully with the influential potential wives to ask them to stretch that far in finding a husband.
Have the guard watch Sir Francois closely, we don't want him to start trouble. The men should be alert for his travels in the city.
Jonas then turns his attention to King Phillip, though addressing his staff to do the work, Inzilbun, Maethros, and King Phillip are invited to play chess against Eddard, Sir Louqwine, and myself. I will be betting high stakes if anyone wishes to bet against me. Jonas will chose other men that can actually play if the men he has chosen can't play. He just doesn't trust being alone with King Phillip after the assassination attempt. They will play in the room that the Satan Book is kept, with extra guards to watch it. During the night, Jonas will take the Satan Book into his room in preparation of the deal.

Jonas has just finished listening to Svetlana's and Inzilbun's report on their interrogation of the dead mage. Inzilbun gives a short bow, Lord Bishop, if that is all, I shall take my leave and look after Phillip. He is feeling ill and wishes to retire to his private quarters for some rest. If that is all, we shall meet again in the morning when we are all rested and fresh. Svetlana breathes out a sigh of relief when Inzilbun leaves and leans towards Jonas and rests her head on his shoulder. He can tell she is deeply fatigued from casting and guesses Inzilbun let her do most of the work. He is about to reach out to her when he notices Aymon standing there, waiting patiently like an owl. Jonas doesn't know how long the page has been there or what he has heard. He has said nothing, just waiting his turn to be addressed. When he notices Jonas sees him, he steps forward and surprises Svetlana, who had no idea he was there. She steps away from Jonas, trying to maintain some sense of propriety, but Jonas and Aymon can both clearly see the blush on her cheeks. Aymon says nothing about it and acts like he didn't even notice, but Jonas is sure the clever page saw it all, Lord Bishop, you have visitors. Two of them are seeking for you to pay a ransom for their captured colleagues. You apparently sent them on some scouting expedition. I overhead them speaking, they think you set them up in some kind of elaborate plot to gain favor. I wouldn't advise seeing them alone. There are also two messengers from Bishop Ulrich. According to them, he is coming here, probably arriving sometime tomorrow morning or afternoon. You should also know that Sir Francois was asking about Father Riordan and has left his chambers to venture down into the tombs. As far as I know the guard followed him down there, but we haven't heard any word from them for more than an hour.

OOC: Is this the same Bishop Ulrich that Jonas branded a heretic and sent to the Holy Father?
IC: Jonas is fine with Inzilbun leaving, but slightly startled that Svetlana is showing her affection out in the open. When he eyes Aymon, he is not pleased with the slippery way the page works. He whispers to her, Zone of Truth. The man keeps to many secrets and moves silently in secret passage ways. An appropriate punishment will be carrying a cow bell around his waste when he isn't on an immediate combat mission. For clarification, Jonas has the Donas Tome with him at all times.
Jonas replies to Aymon, getting more annoyed that the page is hiding something. So you don't know the names of the people wanting to see me? How am I to know who they say they are? There have been enough attempts on my life today. I am sure that I didn't set anyone I sent out, but I'll read there argument that they dictate to you on paper. Jonas thinks, I might pay it depending if the scouting party succeeded, who is captured, who is asking for the ransom, and how much the people are asking. Jonas gets a shocked look at his face at the mention of Bishop Ulrich, there was only one that was at the top of his mind, Bishop Ulrich??? That isn't the same one that formerly was here in Trier? Find that out, and then I'll see them with the Order of the Broken Lance members. Let Vicar Aedvar know about Sir Francois, and that he is in charge of a plan to find out what he is up to and possibly capture the man if needed. They seem to have a long history, and he will enjoy the honor.
Jonas turns towards Aymon, he still felt uneasy about the man. He hits his Staff of Serenity (again ironically half threatening with it) on the floor to summon some guards, How was your search for Father Riordan in the vaults? I seem to have found them first and have already passed judgment on him. You seem to have failed at the selection of messenger guests, protecting the treasury, and keeping track of our guests Father Riordan and Sir Francois. You do not seem that incompetent Aymon, so why is it that you do these things? Do you work for another within the church or for Lorraine? You sneak through halls that I was not informed about and are usually quietly hiding in the corners or shadows. Answer me these things, for I see much greatness that could become of you. But you chose to hide it and seemingly use it for lesser purposes than what Orion granted you the gifts he bestowed upon you. Jonas is going to have Aymon's room checked by the Order of the Broken Lance. Secure Rolls: Diplomacy (like Jonas could intimidate anyone!) 1d20(11)+24 = 35 Sense Motive 1d20(11)+6 = 17

Jonas can tell from Svetlana's reaction, she didn't know Aymon was there. She has stepped away from him and Jonas can tell she is angry with herself, angry with Aymon and concerned about what Aymon saw pass between them. Aymon looks confused, agitated and anxious at Jonas' demeanor. The page looks like he is uncertain about how to proceed or what to do. He looks back and forth between Jonas and Svetlana and quietly asks,Is she in your confidence? It's important that I know. So often when we've met, you have had others, almost always had others around I was never certain we could trust. That is the reason for my apparent reticence. I know the men waiting for you. I believe I know the danger and delicacy involved in meeting them. If you wish, I will speak openly and candidly about them in front of Svetlana. If not, I shall wait for her to leave and then we can speak privately and in depth for perhaps the first time. Secure Rolls: Aymon bluff 1d20(13)+9 = 22

Jonas makes sure Svetlana has cast Zone of Truth, as he had indicated. Jonas doesn't bother looking at Svetlana again, he figures she must be embarrassed. Instead, his eyes lay coldly on Aymon. His words 'perhaps the first time' seemed like daggers to his search for knowledge. He must decide now though, and all the assassination attempts in private meetings meant that he did indeed need someone in the room with him to at least stop an initial attack. She is fine to speak openly in front of. After all the assassination attempts, I do need some more protection. Now, what is it that you have been holding back from me? Jonas holds his staff slightly to his right, fully prepared to slam it down once more to summon the guards that should be outside! That is his readied action.

OOC-The Zone of Truth is active and encapsules Jonas, Svetlana and Aymon within it's boundaries.
IC-Aymon returns Jonas' cold stare with one of his own. It is not a stare normally seen in people his age and Jonas' misgivings about Aymon only increase. He can tell the page is aware of the spell and aware of Jonas' preparation to summon the guards. Aymon holds his hands in front of his chest, showing he has no weapons, looks to Svetlana, to let her know, then looks back at Jonas with eyes as unfeeling as marble, Svetlana can't protect you. Not like you need. She just doesn't understand humans well enough to read the signs of danger. And even if she did, I doubt she has the skill to keep you safe against the likes of Culwane the Winged, Alcazra, Sir Galliard, Euric, Harcat Dog-killer and so on. Your friend Jamie Bogget was wise in hiring her protectors. Assassins like Tybalt Wild-child and Damilon Vile-Silencer are not easy to come by. They are worth the cost. I would suggest you look into that before continuing with your intrigues. Aymon pauses for a moment, looking at Svetlana and judging her reaction before continuing, I would like you to remember you sent me into the tombs looking for Father Riordan. So that's where I went. It's not where you found him though. I don't think I can reasonably be blamed for not finding someone if he was not in the place I was sent to look for him. As far as Sir Francois is concerned, he has gone into the tombs. It would be reduntant for me to report on events you already know about. In regards to your other accusastions, I try to act as inobtrusive as possible, not wishing to interrupt or interfere with any conversation or guestioning going on. The 'secret' passages you mention are known to most of the servants. It is only the 'masters' like yourself, who are ignorant of them. Aymon pauses again, watching Jonas and Svetlana, judging their reactions and the potential danger to himself before continuing, Your guests are Bishop Bohemond Warnesberg, speaking on behalf of Bishop Ulrich, and the other two are Illianno and Guiseppe of the La Stella Cossa. I hope you know what these people want, because I don't.

Jonas listens, is not very impressed. This kind of excuses were worthy if it was the Senate, but Jonas is his the person he reports to directly. Jonas says just audibly to know that Svetlana will heere and Aymon would overhear his words to Svetlana, Detect Evil or Good. She probably can't, but I don't know those other people to pay their protection fee. ...Wait...Wait...My friend...Jamie...What makes you say such a thing? Jonas is steaming mad, how did he miss Aymon spying on him when it had alluded Phillip and seemingly Lotan. You said you had something to tell my for perhaps the first time, now would be that time. Servants should not keep secrets from their 'masters', for it weakens their decision making and makes their 'servants' less safe. Now tell me how you got your 'information' and the full story behind your sources. Jonas has the same ready action, equally prepared to hear an ally and an enemies name come out of Aymon's mouth. I know Bishop Bohemond Warnesberg well, and can receive him openly and without fear. It is odd that he came back with Bishop Ulrich, so we should watch him a bit to make sure it isn't a disguised assassin like with the note from the Holy Father. It is odd that La Stella Cossa seeks ransom, as they knew the risks involved and were appropriately paid already. We should be careful with them, but it should be alright. Secure Rolls: Diplomacy (Aymon, still seeing if he is trustworthy) 1d20(9)+24 = 33 Sense Motive 1d20(19)+6 = 25

Aymon steps back a little, trying to make it appear like he is scared and moving back out of fear. He is not though, Jonas can tell. Aymon has however, almost stepped out of the Zone of Truth's influence. He bows his head, not looking at Jonas and mumbling at first, like he is scared and nervous, Do you mean the information about your friend Jamie? I got that from Phillip and his counselors. They often talk about her in private. They have portraits of her. Several of them in fact, most show her in Venice walking along the quays, but there is one of her somewhere in the north, in small little room with another woman that looks like a concubine. Jamie's not happy in it, not happy at all. She actually looks kind of drugged. That's the one they look at the most. They usually discuss what spell or potion was used to 'tame' her. The man who enchanted her is dead now. His brother works for Duke Vintronus. Phillip and his counselors are worried Vintronus will catch her first. I'm not sure why they think she's so important, but I think Phillip is fixated on her, in an unhealthyway. When Aymon realizes Jonas is still unhappy with the answer, he swallows and glibly smiles, Oh yeah, through the passages. I often listen to Phillip from hiding spots in his room. As you know from our earlier conversations, the city is full of secret passages and hidden rooms most of the lords don't know about. I hope you are not angry with me. The last words are the most honest Aymon has spoken. Jonas knows that Aymon hasn't told the whole truth, just enough not to set off the Zone's enchantment. --------- Illianno and Guiseppe of La Stella Cossa are waiting in one of the ante-chamber meeting rooms. Five members of the Order of the Broken Lance stand ready to assist Jonas, including the healed Badger Knight. He can tell the knights are on edge and wary of the two men sitting impatiently before them, whispering between themselves in their own language. They sit up straight when Jonas enters, dark looks on both their faces tell Jonas they no longer trust him. Neither of them rise as they should befitting his position, but remain sitting, staring angrily about. Secure Rolls: Aymon bluff 1d20(2)+9 = 11

Jonas looks sternly at Aymon, he has had enough of this weaseling around with Aymon who won't tell him the whole truth. Jonas will find a way to get it out of him. Aymon, what are you forgetting. What is it that you still hide in your story? You say nothing that I haven't already known. Also, which of Phillip's counselors and how do they plan to get Jamie? And stay inside the spell that your trying to sneak away from, you aren't as afraid as you appear. Out with it already! Jonas should kill Aymon for knowing Jamie is his friend, that was more than enough reason to kill the man that did not seem fearful of this situation. Aymon went through secret passages and listened to whatever information he wanted, he was certainly working for someone else. --------- Jonas walks into the room, not surprised by the lack of respect the La Stella Cossa show. The badger Knight performed well and deserved a slight recognition, so Jonas needs to remember to check the mans name. Jonas addresses the men, making it clear to his knights that they should still be on guard but the sitting was acceptable for now. Now what is this of a ransom? I paid good money to get the information I requested and you knew full well of the dangers involved. As I'm sure your aware by now, I'm dealing with an upcoming attack and even a few that have betrayed me from the inside. I assure you two that I acted on good faith throughout our dealings. Jonas waits for the men to speak, sure that they aren't likely to be influenced greatly by his words. Jonas has spoken the truth though like he had always tried to do, hopeful that the men will see any betrayal was a result of the corruption Jonas was trying to weed out slowly in his staff and city. Secure Rolls: Diplomacy (La Stella Cossa) 1d20(13)+24 = 37 Diplomacy (Aymon, last chance before an init roll) 1d20(19)+24 = 43

Aymon steps squarely back into the spell zone, ever mindful of Jonas, staring at him the whole time. He draws himself up as much as he can, (Aymon is only 5-2) and his gray eyes look wide and eager, like he is relieved to finally tell, You don't know? I thought it obvious. Vicar Belros and Bishop Ulrich knew Father Lotan and his Cardinals would investigate and possibly use enchantments on you to insure your trust and worthiness. Do you think it unjust of them to want to watch you, to make sure you hadn't become corrupted or turned? Yes, I am a spy, have been for the past four years. It was nothing personal against you Jonas. You know that in these times you can never be too careful about your friends or foes. I would understand if you want me gone from your service. I'm certain Vicar Belros or Bishop Ulrich could find another place for me. If you would have me, I would prefer to stay with you, to spy for you and the Reformation. ------------ Illianno looks down at the ground, slightly embarrassed. Guiseppe doesn't flinch, but his tone softens and he is no longer cursing under his breath. Guiseppe finally stands when Jonas finishes, Good Bishop, we understand the need for discretion and intrigue. It is part of our life, our work, it's what keeps the heart pumping. We commend you on your skill. We only ask that you spare our folk, pay their ransom and let us discuss how we may pay our debt to your graciousness. Illianno notices the confused look on Jonas' face and stands up to, talking with his hands, his voice is smooth and full of false gratitude, What my cousin means to say is, we understand your position without knowing it, but commend you on your tactical skill in hiring us for capture. You can imagine our surprise when we arrived in Heigelsburg and found our every move watched and studied from the moment. Like they were waiting for us. It was a beautiful dance of deception Lord Khalkoff and his spies performed for us. And then the capture and release with ransom notice. It was all very well played and we commend on that part. Now, we need to know what it is you truly wish of us.

OOC: So we have Silakova, Ulrich, Cecilia, and a bunch of other high profile evil guys here? Wow, and I thought Chalon was going to be big. I was totally going a different direction with the La Costra Nossa, but decided to change course. OOC2: Special thanks to LoneKnight for including Jonas' song in another thread! I'm not sure if that character is the one I would have wanted to sing it though :).
IC: Jonas gives a cunning smile that only comic book villain could love. It is good that Aymon finally told him. It was odd that the Reformation word had been so openly received, it was something that Jonas conceived of with Jamie. The word itself was his idea, it looked like Jamie and Jonas needed a new code word for their dealings (Jonas was kind of hoping to have it as a secret knowledge word to protect against shape changers). I guess I don't make the most inconspicuous spy do I? Bishop Ulrich has tested me before and so it is not surprising that he would do so again. I have only failed in keeping a book he left and disbanding the Hospitalliers, but I think the rest that I have done would have pleased him. Holy Father Lotan did have an non-magical enchantment placed upon me, but Svetlana discovered it. It is not unjust for them to watch for my corruption, and I actually applaud them for doing such things. I would like to hear Vicar Belros and Bishop Ulrich's thoughts on Silakova and possibly some other clergy to confirm they are open to the Reformation. Silakaova seems to be helping, but I want to make sure. I would prefer it if you stay. If you want, I can create a special branch in the Order of the Broken Lance devoted to men like you and Ulrich. I have done such a thing with Svetlana and a sort of mage branch. Jonas is mainly concerned about Silakova, since he sent Svetlana and Eddard. Jonas is of course speaking of when Ulrich said he raided for artifacts in his previous career. I guess it would be fitting if we go see the men together tomorrow, when I might learn how he avoided Lotan. We can talk about Chalon and Phillip then also. ------------ Jonas listens, clearly troubled by the suggestion he planned to have them captured. Jonas has some trouble deciding what task to send them on though. Certainly discretion is key. My own actions are closely observed as well by many. Well, let me think. You aren't as capable as Arturo the Assassin and Gellon the Horse Thief, as you were captured on a mere snatch and grab scheme. How much is the ransom. What to do with you two... I'll give you three options, chose two: 1. I could use some assassins, but I'm still deciding on who due to your poor showing. It seems that the profile I had in mind will need to be downgraded. 2. Locate the fabled Elves of Albion, I need to get an ambassador from there to speak to me. I have a book and some notes that they need to see immediately regarding their welfare as a race and nation. 3. Find and recover my book: Inside the Pentagram. I do not know where it is or who stole it. I only know that I had it yesterday before a secret inventory was done without my knowledge. Illianno and Guiseppe would likely know that Arturo and Gellon were responsible for the previous Holy Father's death. Jonas either wants them found or Lotan dead for rising to power this way. For Number 1, Jonas has in minds in sort of order: Lotan, Bishop (the one that worked with Arlen), help Jamie with Chalon killings, Cardinals, and the people on Jamie's list (though maybe not the top ones with these assassins).

OOC-Jonas would know that a Friar Bardolf has started a similiar movement and even held a Feast of Renewal in the city of Leuze. Bardolf's feast was well attended by the likes of Bishops Aggleson, Holbruin, Arvanya, Orem the Bishop of Beauvois, Renato the Bishop of Amiens. Other notables were Lady Leona Demars, Rudigar of Norwich, and the great knight, Sir Jebediah Langston and his daughter. People there spoke of reforming the Church and that they felt it had strayed from it's path. It's more than possible this is what Aymon is referring to, rather than Jonas and Jamie's plan. Two of the Friars Jamie travels with attended this Renewal Feast.
IC-Aymon is pleased Jonas wants to keep him around, Bishop Jonas, if you don't mind, I would prefer to remain in my current position and place. I'm not one to organize and command others, and to do that would take away from the work I've already done here. If it is what you wish, I will do so with all the humility and efficiency within me. As I said, Bishop Ulrich is coming, if he is not already here and would prefer to have a private audience with you to discuss such matters. Aymon stops and looks over at Svetlana, a not entirely trusting look it is, then turns back to Jonas, I don't believe Phillip is still under the influence of the Tabard anymore. If he is, his counselors Maldo and Idryryn Fane are most certainly not. They are the ones who asked about Jamie. They believe she is the Red Witch's apprentice. Maldo has been here since Phillip first arrived. He was one of Methros apprentices. Or at least that was the guise he traveled under. I think he is more cunning than Methros and that they switched roles. He was the actually the one in charge while Methros acted the part. I don't know much about Father Fane, except his brother was crippled fighting in the Ardennes two years ago. He plays the part of a priest of St. Kargoth. Which he could be, he is quite careful, and besides a penchant for cruelty, I haven't discovered much else about him. ------ Illianno and Guiseppe accept Jonas' scolding with muted anger. He can tell they feel they don't deserve such, but are in no position to do anything about it. Illianno speaks up, Bishop Jonas, Lord Khalkoff has said he would accept 2,000 silver pieces for each prisoner, or his father's head and 500 silver for each prisoner. He said that decision would be left up to you. I was mystified and surprised when he mentioned his father. I didn't know you and Khalkoff were so close. As for the other matters, we would like some time to consider the options before accepting.

Jonas responds to Aymon, sure that the man isn't talking about the Jamie and Jonas Reformation. That is fine Aymon, just let me in on what you are doing here. Make the arrangements to see Bishop Ulrich at the earliest he is ready to see me. It will be good to see him again. Jonas tries to settle Aymon's news with what he has gathered from Phillip, I think Phillip is still under the influence, and when he comes out of it he will still be resolved to follow his current course due to the truth that he now knows. Even his most evil instinct would not allow what will happen, he wants to rule as an evil overlord, but mainly under the oppressiveness of a dictatorship that he has set up. Maldo and Idryryn Fane were never under the influence, we need to be careful of them. I'm not sure how many of Phillip's advisers can even be counted to follow his orders now. Be careful not to let any information about Jamie slip out. ------ Jonas didn't remember a number being associated with the prisoners, but he has money set aside for this purpose. How many prisoners? Jonas does a quick calculation of the price, likely being fine with it if it is under 12,000 gp. Very well, I will give you two hours to decide. Jonas might give them more if they ask, but he wants to make them sweat a little on deciding a course of action. Phillip's bad advisers wouldn't make a bad target that the men would actually be able to handle.

Illianno and Guiseppe nod their heads and tell Jonas there are fourteen prisoners and that he has treated them more than fair. They will let him know their decision within the two hours given. They both stand and deferentially bow and take their leave. ---- Aymon gives Jonas a pensive look before asking, Jonas I don't know who this 'Jamie' is. What I know of her, I gained from listening to them and you. Is she someone I should know more about? Or someone I should forgot I've ever heard mention of her name?

200 gp * 14 = 2800 gp for the prisoners is fine. Jonas might even pay them a bonus if they succeed on their missions (I'll mark 5,000 gp in bonus money left for them if they succeed), though he only implies so as to not give them a firm amount. He will leave money and a note for Ulrich when he leaves on this matter. ---------- Jonas shakes his head slightly, still unsure whether to let Aymon in fully on everything. Just keep a passive ear out for the name of Jamie from Phillip's men, and remember that is where you heard your information from. Jonas makes the last comment to let Aymon know to 'forget' anything that Jonas has said on the subject. Now, let us go see Ulrich if he is ready. Secure Rolls: Sense Motive 1d20(6)+6 = 12

OOC-So, Jonas is sending Illiano and Guiseppe after Maldo and Idryryn Fane? in exchange for paying Khalkoff's ransom?
IC-Aymon nods in assent to Jonas' decision about Jamie and turns, heading towards Jonas' quarters, I'll go check on Ulrich's arrival and start making preparations for the meeting. Bishop Ulrich usually meditates for several hours after dawn before speaking with anyone. Aymon would lead Jonas and Svetlana to Jonas' quarters before taking leave to see about Bishop Ulrich. Jonas would go inside his rooms(more like a suite) and Svetlana follows him. She is clearly stunned and still in some shock over the events of the day, I'd like to take a bath. A lot has happened today with Silakova arriving and Ulrich coming and the Cosa Nostra and Aymon's news about Fane and Maldo. It's a bit overwhelming. Certainly nothing I ever expected when I came. I'm not sure if I believe Silakova. He certainly believes in what he told us. It's just hard to imagine that the heirs of Elendil still live. Even among the elves, Arwen and Elessar are legends beyond most of even the elders memories. Granted, I have never traveled among the elves of Albion, said to be the oldest of the elven folk, nor have I journeyed to Moira's realm in the Pyrenees. I think it, if what Silakova says is true, it might be wise for us to travel there and take counsel with Lady Moira Slighthand and Phelim Roebuck. I'm certain they would have some insight into these matters. She slips out of her clothes while talking and walks with a sinous grace towards the bathing tubs. She turns as she fills the tub and casts a warming spell and gives a Jonas a rather mischevious and lecherous smile..... ------- Jonas lays in bed, feeling sated and thinking over the events of the day. Svetlana sleeps peacefully, her head on his chest, her mouth slightly open as she dreams. She is clearly no elf, though she their blood does run through her veins. Jonas feels a slight stirring of wind and looks to see nothing, then hears Dybro's smooth, malty voice from the opposite direction, Evening to you Jonas. So much happening, so much to decide and do, whatever will you make of the day? Jonas turns to see the slayer sitting comfortably in one of his soft, moorish chairs(beanbag type)eating chocolate covered dates. I thought you should know, Gringamore has captured Jamie Bogget and is taking bids for her. So far Duke Vintronus and some warrior Queen from Albion by the name of Maeve have made the best or most interesting offers. Does this interest you? Would you like to make a bid?

OOC: That deal is going to cause a lot of trouble really close to Jonas if they fail for such a lower level target. At this point Jonas would almost prefer their help in safe passage to Albion or the Pyrenees to see the Elves with Svetlana and the others he can bring along. Good things ones don't fail on skill checks.
IC: Jonas responds to Svetlana, almost in shock that she knows the people and seemingly see them without a worry. A lot has happened today, but these things are actually just starting to come to pass what was begun long ago... Jonas finishes the sentence in his mind, in a small inn with Jamie and Bjorn. He continues, clearly breaking down against better judgment given his current company in Trier to be with Svetlana. The heirs likely survived, as the line would surely have multiplied easily in the early days by their fame alone. Moira's realm seems to be the fastest to get to, if not exactly the safest. Jonas tries to get a sense of how easily his journeys might bring him to either location, but also how Lotan would see the act. He is trying to think the best course of how to get the information. He then gets in the warm tub with Svetlana as he disrobes... ----- Jonas needs to make sure Svetlana does not sleep in his bed or room anymore, for just this situation could have been anyone. With such high profile men, his guards might have an emergency that causes them to rush in. Hello again, Dybro. My night was great, we shall see about the day. Jonas smiles a little, but quickly turns to caution when Dybro makes mention of Jamie. I will bid, 50,000 silver. Remember Dybro, Jamie allowed you to go free and did not turn you over to those that would kill you or put you under their permanent control. Also, what other news do you have about Gringamore? I've been meaning to brush up on his current activities and alliances. Is he still working with Hoarkl? I heard Hoarkl was on the run. Jonas waits, ready to go up to 15,000 gp easily if Dybro can say he will win Jamie from Gringamore. He has something even more interesting in his far reaches if Dybro is really not going to make the deal at all, but Jonas thinks he'll give in at a reasonable price. Secure Rolls: Diplomacy (Bidding with Dybro) 1d20(1)+24 = 25

tsk, tsk, tsk, you are living up to your nom de plume Jonas. It's humorous you would offer mere coins for such a prize as Jamie Ermensandre Bogget, heir to the Red Witch Olorin's apprentice and Lotan's Nightmare. Now, what do you really offer? What do you really think Gringamore is wanting for such a prize? The Book Jonas. And I know, you know of which book I speak. He wants that, or something that gives him the influence needed for his ambitions. How much is your life really worth? I know it's comparing apples to oranges, but Jamie is one delicious apple. Would you give your life for hers? If he gave her to you, would you serve him?

Jonas looks at Dybro, not sure if he has anything to offer anymore. Someone has stolen the book, or it would be in the hands of your friend right now. I explained to your friend that I am upset that deal did not go threw, and I repeat that to you that I did intend of fulfilling my end. I have the Canon of Donas, but Gringamore probably doesn't care for that. Before today, I would have gladly given my life for Jamie's. But some things have changed, and I can not.
I could offer him possibly some peace and time from the Church and knowledge of how to pursue his ends. Of course, I would need to know at least part of what ends he wants to currently pursue.
Your friend won't be pleased that would help Lotan when he is losing some of power.
