You look to the monk, and he sits in the middle of the room with the small bed. He's on the floor and seems to be humming softly to himself, with his eyes closed. After a few moments he opens his eyes, and nods. "The Dragon's instructions were but cause and effect as to how the Marble that Silver carries works. Into the sphere, and it gets smaller....out, and it regrows. If the Maiden understands this, she might allow us to bring her along with only pushing it out once we find a suitable space. Given it may be some time before we find her a place, we should collect her like a child brings a stuffed animal around with it. We can leave her somewhere once a room full of life is encountered. Or, may swing by the front desk on our way out...If we leave in that manner. I do not recall her being so specific as to location...or even within the library, though we could inquire." and his face wrinkles with a bit of concern as he looks at Silver. His eyes dart to the stuffed dragon, and cat, she holds. "Ah, Apologies Lady, for the analogy..." and he stands and bows to her. He turns calmly to face Anvil. "That is to say good dwarf, if Xabadiel is aligned with Paragyl, perhaps this is simply a way that they moved between their domains. Nauri is not likely in Hell, though Paragyl's lair may bear resemblances should this teleporter go there...especially if Xabadiel is there now as well." he pauses and after a moment of thought, continues. "Should it go there too, it...complicates locking the door, since anyone finding the teleporter may gain enterance." He ends his tirade of thoughts with a simple shrug.

After giving thanks to Moradin for his tollerance of a lowly devout Donnakk looks at the fading light marking Nauris departure "Nay goodfellows... One doth thinkset Nauri be diverst of all reason anst be quite obtuce." [forcing others into rash actions, as just demonstrated, without ooc prior discussion is inappropriate game play. If he's silly enough to trigger a trap he should face the consequences by himself]
GM Note: Actually, he's playing Nauri true to his C/G alig. Technically, a Paladin would likely go after him out of the duty to protect the weak and innocent, and overall good-ness. That being said, everyone is free to do as they wish in my realm with no council but their own... I will encourage you though, to read HH&HR #12, as well as the old school rule #3. :) -Z

[Yes a Paladin would, This is why I stated this type of behaviour is unacceptable without prior comment by other players. Playing a Chaotic doesn’t mean being a fool; he is supposed to be Good as well so he should consider the good of the others.
Anvil, Dezran and Silver, If the others are willing to follow Donnakk rolls the scroll returning it to his pouch steps forward into the sphere.
Otherwise Nauri should be left to his fate.
I propose the elect a leader and I suggest Dezran who I presume is the smartest in the group.]
GM Note: If this were F2F, I agree, since the party can call 'Timeout' and discuss. This modality, as HH points out, is slightly different. (Unless you're all in a room somewhere and didn't invite me?) Lack of other PC involvement as to what your character wants to do does not make one a fool. Perhaps he thought that to serve the greater good, he should confront the evil head on. I'm not that strict with RP either as to good vs evil--- If I was more strict, you're character likely would not be the way he is either....As to a leader---- you might want to check with Dezran before volun-choosing him. The gnome seems to be busy enough, and his posts are infrequent. Also-- there is an OOC Campaign thread. One could post actions/thoughts there too, though we seem to do well with OOC in thread too :) 2 Last ramblings: Did anyone stop to consider that perhaps Nauri is right, and it is this party that seems to be wandering? I'm not saying either way, since I know what's going to happen, and will suggest it may just be as you point out that he's simply got large brass ones... :) And the final Ramble-
" Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-- I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference." -Robert Frost
Interesting, I'd say the reasoning of any Character, who had just been involved in a melee with 4 devils. Chase an imp, serving the mage that sent the Devils, through a trap, that teleports anyone triggering it to a pre designated point of the Mages choosing, not quite sound; infact quite foolish. But hey it doesn't matter if we all die after all its all in his.. my... our imagination.

Everyone wishes excitement in there character. Each has to make there own choices, many times those choices are growing pains of all sorts.I have played for over..well since D&D first originated on and off,But that was table top not PbP on the internet. Many PC grew in character because of brash and stupid choices and to this day those actions are seen in Current threads playing in other games on this site.Anyway we do not have to follow,he knew what could be there and took the risk I wish sometimes I still had that hair trigger reaction to things but, more power to anyone who can take the heat:)
I will not follow Nauri he has chosen to take a direct path to the source,a bold move.My goals still remain the same shut down this Teleporter,Collect the Maiden of the Sea,then Seal this Temple until it call for the return of followers....Xabadiel still needs tobe stopped and whatever Paragyl is up to also equates into the picture. And as Hubo'Tai said The Maiden need tobe taken somewhere more inhabitable.
Anvil looks around at the rest of the group then back to DezranAny idea how to shut down this thing? Anvil stops and turns Gustalig the Spirit may know if we seal this Temple with the rose Medallion will it also seal it Magically. With that thought Anvil heads back to the Founders chamber to ask the Spirit GustaligI have a question for Gustalig I will be right back

The monk sits back down as Nolman continues to look at the ring of green nervously. As the clumsy elf gets closer to the ring, the monk stands.
"I will go..." he states simply."There is enough divine influence here..." and he looks to both dwarves. "...where I think that you will know right from wrong. I am not so sure of our large hammer wielding friend. My Order's philosophy might keep him on a more correct path." he turns to Nolman. "You should stay, since your skills of combat still require some assistance. The Dwarves and Hunter Should be able to protect you while you hone your skills and trade." and he bows to the elf, then to the group. Nolman nods slowly, looking almost relieved.
""Uh... yeah... that sounds good...I didn't want to step in that thing anyway. My luck, only half of me would go." and he stops throwing nervous glances at the dual ring of green energy.
Hubo'Tai looks to the gnome. "Your choice is up to you."
Anvil You cast PfE on the monk who smiles as you raise your holy symbol high. You cast Sacred Guardian as well, and hand him the 2 potions. He bows deeply again. "Be well...all of you...and good luck with sealing this House of the Rose. I am certain, like the flower it is named for, that it will bloom again. But even Flowers rest through Winter until Spring dawns. Perhaps we shall meet again. Fate is a fickle mistress." And with that, he walks into the circles. There is a blinding flash of green......and he is gone.

Anvil The silence after the monk follows the warrior is ominous. Still, you bolt northward in search of the dwarven spirit Gustalig.
Donnakk You heave 2 pews-- 1 at a time--- into the room. It takes you some time since they are taller than you. Eventually, you stand each up, and tip them slowly. They land in the circle, acting as a bridge across the twinkling green energy. It doesn't fill the whole circle, but certainly a good portion of it. Oddly, the energy crawls up and over the 'breach' as the circle projects itself upward as if it was some giant unseen cylinder.

OOC: Apologies all, my work schedule has been crazy for the last several days... and the other half has had car trouble for over a week, so pretty much every moment I've had lately when I wasn't working, I've been playing taxi driver... Hopefully things are calmer now. Getting caught up on posts I've missed and I'll post an update.

Anvil enters the Founders chamber of rest Spirit Gustalig, I have a question for which you may know the answer. When the Temple of the rose is locked and sealed with the Rose Medallion will it lock out all from entering both through the front entrance and any magical means such as a Teleportion ring.
He stops and takes a breath The reason I need to know is the Temple has been cleansed of the Evil which was residing here but they opened a teleportation ring in the studies which we do not know how to shut down.Would the Key work?
Waiting for any answer to guide himAlso is there anything else you wish for me to give to the High Lord when I give him the Medallion for safe keeping to be brought back,When we spoke to him he was I think in a way pleased you have stayed on to ensure the Temples Safety.
Reaching around he pulls out(Warhammer #1)and shows Gustagil the marking.Do you know what it stands for or the power it holds?

Dezran looks up from where he has been scribbling extremely detailed notes about the circle in the tiny notebook that seems to appear regularly. "Hm... Fascinating application of magics here... I am certain his trip was an interesting ride. I have been through something similar once." He grins up at the others.
"Regardless, I am willing to go through to assist Nauri, but only once I have fulfilled my promise to the Lady and taken her to the Inn, so she will have someone to look after her. Or at least insured that she will be delivered."
He then bends back down to the circle to examine if it would be possible to dispell the magic. Secure Rolls: Intelligence Check 1d20(14) = 14 Perception 1d20(3) = 3

Perhaps the man was on the other side, Silver thought as she scanned the rooms for anything that might have been missed by the others. She hated staying idle and working always helped clear her mind. In any case she couldn't go until she made sure he was not here and the maiden was moved.
OOC: Not sure I have to roll per for all the rooms. She is checking rooms 9, 10, 11 and 12 before moving to the smaller ones.

Anvil You make it to the room where the dwarven spirit last spoke to you. SLowly, he drags himself out of hte tomb as he done before, finally sitting on it as he had done previous as well. He sighs, though there is no sound. "Aye, cousin...that'd be a lot of questions. I can answer what I know, and ye can make what ye want of it." He hops down and walks around, tracing a spirited finger around hte tomb he just sat upon. "I'm not one for magics...I'm mostly curious about the divine, but if there is magics about the House of the Rose, perhaps the Dragon might tell ye how to break it. He is magic, though the question is if he'll listen. He walks around and climbs back up, though given he's a spirit, he simply floats through it. "There's nothing else t' give the drake...I'm surprised he still remembers us. It's been a few hundred years, I think." He peers at the hammer with the clouds on it as he settles once again atop the large stone sarcophagus. He smiles. "Aye... that'd be Demonsmack...and while it only roughs up enemies that want t' talk with the business end, It has some stronger enchantments against those from the Abyss... Now...if ye will excuse me, I need to go back t' rest." and with that he sinks into the stone tomb.
Donnakk GM Note: Not sure I understand what you're doing here--- are you straddling the 2 pews that are now over the magic circle?
Dezran You bend down to examine the runes. They're far above you at the moment, though you can tell that if one were to break the runes, the magic likely disapates. The problem is, one simply can't 'erase' runes, or mages all over the world would not be able to keep any sort of circles open if any passerby could simply kick them away. A strong dispel spell, or some disenchanting oil of some sort might work, though where you'd get either is not entirely evident. There might be a way too to close it from the other side also, but you'd need to see it to determine.
Silver You check the lingering rooms, but there's little to see. They are all common rooms set up for study. They have some simple study items on the seeks-- parchment, some ink quills and ink vats, though they are long since dry.
