Kahvi and her friends and allies journeyed to High Vale the home of Sir Alfred Nickerson and another supposedly ally. High Vale had just broken out of a two year long siege and many lords and Captains had gathered there from all sides of the fighting for a truce of sorts in an attempt to settle their differences. The night and the truce went horribly wrong when someone planned ambushes and assassinations and attempted kidnappings during the hours of the great Feast to start the Truce talks. Kahvi found herself a target of her foes. She is not yet clear why just yet, but she has just killed one Lady Myrcella Ponsardin, a werefox enchantress and chased off a wereboar priest known as Father Guillome. One of her companions and guards, Tybalt, was killed by Guillome in the fighting. Kahvi's closest friend, Lady Ricula and Sir Alfred Nickerson found Kahvi in a hidden bath made from a natural hotspring and have escorted them to the West Tower, a place of relative safety. It's also where Jamie Bogget and many of her friends are now staying as well. During the climb from the pools and subsequent walk through the halls, Kahvi noticed Sir Alfred Nickerson was full of embarrasment, frustration and anger over the night's events. It was after all his home that was under attack and his reputation in tatters. This after two long years successfully enduring siege from a host of enemies. He remains polite and calm seeming, but she can sense the seething emotions running through him. Ricula for the most part stays quiet and surprisingly docile and polite for her as Sir Alfred leads them to their rooms. Once there, Sir Alfred takes his leave, making certain to leave five guards at the door to the tower. Ricula takes charge once more, hustling Kahvi and the others up the stairs and into the main suite. She briefly nods at the those gathered in the main room before taking Kahvi by the arm and going to a private room. The others give slight waves or looks of recgonition, but nothing beyond that. Edric is surprised and a little lost while Didier and Damilon, who has reappeared move among the others talking to them quietly about recent events. Edric starts to follow Kahvi and Ricula but then stops when they enter the private room. Once there, Ricula gives Kahvi a looking over and gives her a sad smile when she's done, We've had a great deal of mischief going on tonight. I don't even know where to begin. How are you holding up? Can I get you anything? Feel free to rest her as long as you want. I'll stay with you. We don't have to go out among the others unless you want. I'm glad Myrcella Ponsardin is dead, even more so that you killed her. The Ponsardin's have long been a painful thorn in the King's side. Why did you take her head? Kahvi just realizes she is still holding the gruesome trophy of her victory.
OOC-Myrcella's equipment: 1. +2 stilletto with asp poison in hilt 2. +1 whip coated with pain inducing poison. It is quite thin and she wore it under her belt. 3. Potion of Cure light wounds 1d8+4 4. Potion of Cat's Grace adds 4 to dexterity 5. Silver ring with Carnelian stone, +2 Protection to AC and all SA. 6. Pair of Garnet earrings worth 400 gp each add +4 to listen rolls and cast clairaudience once a week. 7. The rest is mostly costume jewelry, beads, necklace and another ring all together worth less than 100 sp. Kahvi attacks completely ruined the fine gown and shawl she was wearing.

Once there, Ricula gives Kahvi a looking over and gives her a sad smile when she's done, We've had a great deal of mischief going on tonight. I don't even know where to begin. How are you holding up? Kahvi just realizes she is still holding the gruesome trophy of her victory.
Kahvi was a bit thrown off by Ricula suddenly taking her arm and shuffling her off to a private room. Ru came bounding in behind them still carrying his trophy.
She frowns, [Saxon] ”What is that look for?” as she sees the sad smile on Ricula’s face. ”Mischief? I would not call what happened mischief Rica. Mischief is the rumors that we are the King’s mistresses. I watched as the one called Father Guillome kill Tybalt before my very eyes. Tybalt was unable to fend for himself from that ruthless and cowardly attack. And that witch trying to kill Ru with her magic. If it were not for Goshawk, Ru would have been dead and I more than likely would have lost my sanity.” She takes a breath trying to calm down as one hand runs through her short bloody hair. ”I am sorry Rica. I am tired but I am okay. I could use a bath and a change of clothing. I am afraid this is my last outfit,” as she looks at her bloody and torn clothing and sighs. ”I told her I would kill her and I am not done Rica. I still have Father Guillmore to hunt down and kill. He will pay for what he has done.”
She looks down at the head that she was holding not even realizing she still had it in her hands. ”With out a head, she can not be put back together,” she say as she walks to the door and opens it slightly. She leans out a bit holding the head out by the hair, [Common] ”Could some one burn this for me please,” she says to those in the room. ”And I mean burn it. Not burry it somewhere or toss it somewhere . . . burn it.”

Ricula takes a step back, her green eyes growing dark and vengeful,I didn't know Kahvi. I thought you had joined the search for foes. I hadn't realized they attacked you and killed Tybalt. I wouldn't have acted so brusquely if I had known how bad it was for you. Ricula now walks over and puts her hands on Kahvi's shoulders and looks down at her, Ricula's long hair cascading down around Kahvi's face, framing it almost,Let's find you a bath and some proper clothes. You should probably eat something too. I could use a stiff brandy about now, would you like one? Ricula then steps aside, concernedly watching Kahvi as her friend moves to the door. Kahvi looks outside is greeted by Goshawk and two female half elves she vaguely remembers from the ambush at the riverbank. Goshawk gently takes the head from her, I'll take care of this Kahvi, no worries there. Have you met Linna and Jorunn? While Goshawk introduces Kahvi to them an older man with a long white beard looks over at the head. He is tall and lean, straight shouldered like an aspen. He looks down at the head and then Ricula's voice comes from behind Kahvi, Udon, can you recall Myrcella's spirit? Can we speak to her to find more about their plots and why they came after Kahvi and Ru? The old mage peers into the darkness. His face is at first worried then slowly breaks into a grin as he recgonizes Ricula, for you, yes, I can do such a thing. Lady Moonshade are you ill? Do you require anything? Would you like a bath or would you prefer my use of a cantrip to clean your clothes? Ricula gingerly steps around Kahvi, making sure not to open the door and let Ru out, who eagerly wants to go play with Edric. The warrior is sitting over by the fireplace, drinking ale and talking with two other men Kahvi doesn't recgonize. Ricula gives Udon a gentle hug, sorry for not introducing you, Kahvi Moonshade, this is Udon Fogstaff. And, I would most definitely like a long, hot bath and a brandy.
OOC-Udon can summon Myrcella's spirit to answer eight yes or no questions.

[Saxon] ”I know,” Kahvi says. ”I sensed something not right when they separated everyone. I was shuffled off to the tower to a room isolated from everyone. Rica I am so confused as to what is going on. I do not understand why the relentless pursuit of me and Ru.”
Ricula now walks over and puts her hands on Kahvi's shoulders and looks down at her, Ricula's long hair cascading down around Kahvi's face, framing it almost, Let's find you a bath and some proper clothes. You should probably eat something too. I could use a stiff brandy about now, would you like one? Ricula then steps aside, concernedly watching Kahvi as her friend moves to the door.
She rests her forehead against Ricula’s forehead, ”People are questioning our relationship Rica. And I think that is how the rumors of us being the King’s mistress came about. They want to know how someone like me knows you and the king. Someone seems to be going through a lot of trouble to get at us.” She lets out a sigh and then frowns, ”Rica you know I can not stand that stuff,” as she chuckles. ”I am glad you are safe and here Rica.”
Kahvi looks outside is greeted by Goshawk and two female half elves she vaguely remembers from the ambush at the riverbank. Goshawk gently takes the head from her, I'll take care of this Kahvi, no worries there. Have you met Linna and Jorunn?
She lets go of the head, [Common] ”Thank you,” she says to Goshawk and then shakes her head. ”No I have not,” as she looks at the two women and nods to them.
She looks at Ricula funny, [Saxon] ”Is it safe to do such a thing? I would like to know the answers to why, but not if it is unsafe.” She was really unsure about talking to the dead. It just did not seem right.
She looks at Udon, ”Not that I know of. Other than a bath and change of clothing, I am good. Please do not take this the wrong way, but I rather have a bath. Magic just . . . well . . . I just do not feel clean.” She looked at Udon in hopes she had not offended the man.
She just opens the door and let Ru out not wanting to stop him from playing with Edric. She steps out of the room and stands next to Ricula. She looks over towards Didier and Damilon as she realizes she needed to talk to Damilon and give him Tybalt’s things. She lest out a soft sigh as it could wait till she was cleaned up.

Ru scampers over to Edric, leaps into his lap and starts growling and proudly showing off his ear. Edric smiles down at Ru while the two men with him openly laugh out at Ru's antics. It is good hearted laughter and both men reach out and pet Ru and scratch his ears. Ru of course is purring up a storm, rubbing against them each in turn and still proudly growling and shaking the ear. Linna and Jorunn also start laughng at Ru's antics. Kahvi hasn't heard people laugh like this in a long while. She doubts any of the Raiders would do so, except for maybe Lady Amleth and Breyla. For a moment she is reminded of Shayla, she was always laughing. Edric's smile is a warm and happy one. She can see the fatigue in him. He is relaxed and sitting back enjoying his ale and Ru. He sees her and smiles and gives her slight nod of his head. Didier and Damilon are over by the door, discussing something. Damilon looks over. He is human again, nods at her and leaves on some errand. Didier quietly closes the door and remains there guarding and watching. Udon is not the least bit offended by Kahvi's remarks. He actually appreciates her concern and honesty. She can tell he doesn't take magic lightly or how it's used, reminding her much of the elven mages of from her own clan and Albion. Udon points with a long thin arm to another room, A bath and brandy it is then. and in a short time Kahvi and Ricula are sitting in tubs of steaming, soapy water, eating cheese and apples and drinking brandy. Ricula's face is red and streaked with sweat and soap. She looks like she is ready to melt into the tub. Her face, her arms, have gone all soft in the steam, relaxing and letting all her tension go. She takes a long drink of brandy, almost half the glass and pours herself another Do you want another Kahvi? It's lovely isn't, sitting in a tub like this. I'm glad I'm here too Kahvi, glad we are together again. I hope you like Udon. I've always had an affection for him, he's like the kindly uncle I should have had. Ricula pauses, taking another sip and a bite of apple, I don't know the others, they seem like good folk though. It's convinced me even more that joining with Jamie was the right move. Why do you think Didier and Goshawk didn't tell the others about Tybalt's death? I'm certain they all knew him. They all seem close. This hunting of you Kahvi, This is the Queen's work. It's not something either of the prince's could come up with, they just don't have that kind of cunning. King Louis married Lucienne de Rochefort for political reasons. She was one of Coucy's daughters and Phillip needed him. Lucienne is the sister of the current Lord Coucy. She now wields far more power than is good for anybody. In the north, in Flanders, Antwerp, all along the Rhine, our enemies have fostered a hate for anything not human. They equate elves and dwarves and gnomes with uroks, magyars and ogres. Of course, not everyone's believing that, but when the principle members of the Church preach such, it's hard for common folk to get things straight. They are fostering hate among the races. That is bishop Remus' doing. He has always been that way, has always had this unaccountable hate in him. At least I find no reason for it. Now that the Queen and her sons have allied with Remus it only makes sense to discredit Louis by telling them he keeps elven lovers. Do you see what they do now? Does it make things clearer for you? If one of Bishop Remus' inquisitors got a hold of you Kahvi... Ricula looks sad, shaking her head, They've broken many strong willed people Kahvi, forced them to confess to things never done. If they could get you to confess in a papal court, it would give many ambitious nobles enough of a reason to depose Louis and divide the races even more. If Louis falls, the West is lost. Normandy and Lorraine are the two strongest Kingdoms in the West and both suffer foes from within and without. What do you think we should do next Kahvi? I've heard that Princess Irene of Lorraine has "secretly" gone to Trier to help save that city. Remus and Lucienne have sent assassins after her. Do you think we should try and warn her? If we help her, it would help solidify a Normandy-Lorraine alliance. What do you think Kahvi?

Kahvi watches Ru play with Edric. The sounds of laughter were good to hear but it did not seem to make her feel any better. She smiles back at Edric but the smile never reached her eyes. Watching Didier and Damilon a moment, she nods to Damilon as he leaves and then joins Ricula.
I'm glad I'm here too Kahvi, glad we are together again. I hope you like Udon. I've always had an affection for him, he's like the kindly uncle I should have had.
Kahvi submerges under the water getting the blood out of her hair and as she comes up she sees the water now a strange red color, but it did not matter. She frowns at Ricula, [Saxon] ”Rica I have not touched the one you poured me before. How many times do I have to keep telling you I can not stand the stuff? Udon seems nice, but I just only meet him so I can not say.”
Ricula pauses, taking another sip and a bite of apple, I don't know the others, they seem like good folk though. It's convinced me even more that joining with Jamie was the right move. ”I do not know. I only know Didier, sort of, and Goshawk and Damilon I only meet a few hours ago, but I trust them both. I do not know Rica. Perhaps it was not the right time. Perhaps they fear the blame will be pointed somewhere,” as it was obvious that her last statement, Kahvi still blamed herself for Tybalt's death. ”Or maybe they are waiting to tell Jamie first. The Queen? Well she is starting to piss me off.” She frowns, ”It does, but still why me? Out of all the elves of the lands, why me? Rica I would kill myself before I would let that happen.” She shook her head, ”I really do not know Rica. You know I have no head for politics. I just hunt things and keep the balance of the forest. I do not know this Princess you speak of. Rica what do you think we should do? What do you feel would benefit in helping the King?”

Ricula takes Kahvi's glass and drains in one long swallow. All the brandy is now gone and Ricula's face glows red from the steam and brandy. There is a languorous quality to her voice and movements, Because you're my friend Kahvi, that's why they chose you. They know you know the King, know he has seen and I during some of his private hunts. You remember the ones we went on as kids? Those were great days learning to hunt and fish and ride and fight. I still love falconing best, the feel of the birds, the sound of their hunting cries and woosh of their wings as they take flight. We will have those days again Kahvi, Ricula sits up straight in the tub, gazing down at Kahvi, her green eyes soft and glistening in the steam shrouded room,That I promise you. For a moment she almost leans over, almost reaches out and touches Kahvi and it passes and she relaxes laying back in the tub, blowing bubbles and laughing like a girl. Later when they are dressing Kahvi can tell Ricula has come to some conclusions. Kahvi I think you are right about speaking to the dead. We shouldn't do it. I shouldn't act so desperate and willing to do anything. It reeks too much of my brothers and enemies. That's something they would do for certain...she lets that trail off before her face sharpens and her eyes take on a predatory look, We hunt Guillome. Let the princess and Vintronus and Olivia and all the rest get for themselves. Guillome attacked you and for that we hunt him to the death. She finishes putting on her boots and hitching her sword belt and baldric, I'll let you decide if you want to bring Edric along or not. I think he'd be a great help, but if it's going to be difficult for the two of you, I'll understand. I don't know about the others. I'm going to talk to Lord Morwith. I should return in about an hour. Will that give you enough time to get ready?

For a moment she almost leans over, almost reaches out and touches Kahvi and it passes and she relaxes laying back in the tub, blowing bubbles and laughing like a girl.
Kahvi looks at Ricula as she rests her chin on her folded arms that are resting on the edge of the tub. [Saxon] ”They got a nice wake up call if they thought I was some docile creature they could just take.” She nods, ”Aye that I do. Those were simpler days when we did not have much to worry about except who would get the first kill. You have a knack for falconry. It was always fun watching you do it.” She leans forward, ”I know,” as she reaches over into Ricula’s tub and splashes her laughing at her antics.
Later when they are dressing Kahvi can tell Ricula has come to some conclusions. Kahvi I think you are right about speaking to the dead. We shouldn't do it. I shouldn't act so desperate and willing to do anything. It reeks too much of my brothers and enemies. That's something they would do for certain...
She dresses in clean clothing feeling much better. Nodding, ”Tis best not to mess with things such as that. We can find out the information we need another way,” as she places a hand on Ricula’s shoulder.
She lets that trail off before her face sharpens and her eyes take on a predatory look, We hunt Guillome. Let the princess and Vintronus and Olivia and all the rest get for themselves. Guillome attacked you and for that we hunt him to the death.
A smile appears on, ”I hunt Guillome to avenge Tybalt's death. I have a feeling though he will lead us to the one we really seek.
She finishes putting on her boots and hitching her sword belt and baldric, I'll let you decide if you want to bring Edric along or not. She slips on her boots and straps on her weapon’s belt. ”The choice is Edric to make, not mine. If he wishes to come, so be it. If not that is fine as well.” She tilted her head, ”Who is Morwith? Can he be trusted? I can leave now if need be, but an hour will work.” She walks back out to where everyone else is, drying her hair as she does so.
She walks over towards Didier, [Common] ”Well Damilon be returning?” She still had the towel upon her head like a hood as she held the corners.

Ricula is not quite giggling. There is mischevious look on her face though, Edric can come if he likes? That's it? That's all you have to say about the two of you? I guess I thought wrong. I thought you had a fancy for him. Well, since it won't be a problem for you, I'm going to ask him along. Riculas stops smiling and gives Kahvi a stunned look when she asks about Lord Morwith, Kahvi, he is the Earl of Trevante, the Lords of these lands. Sir Alfred Nickerson owes him fealty and Morwith pledged his fealty to the King. It remains to see how he honors that pledge. It's one of the reasons I'm going to see him. ------------- Didier's face remains impassive, his dark eyes reflecting the fire light. His face softens when he first sees Kahvi. She notices Edric noticing her as she walks past without saying anything to him. He is holding a leather wine skin filled with goat's milk. She can see he has made a nipple out of gut and let Ru suckle and drink to his content. When she walks past, he turns back to the fire. Ru spies her and ambles over, his belly tight from eating and drinking. Didier tries to keep a straight face and fails. A slow, amused smile spreads across his face and his darks eyes come to life. She can see herself reflected in them, You know Kahvi, it's not raining, least ways not yet. He plans on it. It's hard to tell when though with everything going on tonight. He went down to the crypts to examine a couple of dead nuns Kree is charged with killing. He's also going to prepare Tybalt's body. I felt it best to leave him alone while he does those things. Mugwort, the Sword priest went with him. It's fitting for a slaughter priest to give Tybalt's last rites. What about you? You don't look like you are staying and relaxing any longer. Is our company that bad, or is it the smell?

”What?” Kahvi says and then blushed. ”There is nothing going on between the two of us. Fancy him? Well . . . I . . . do kind of like him.” She lets out a sigh as things had gotten a bit more complicated.
”That does not mean anything Rica especially with everything that has happened. Just be careful Rica.”
Didier's face remains impassive, his dark eyes reflecting the fire light.
Kahvi was afraid to look at Edric, especially after her talk with Ricula. She was not sure at that moment of her feeling and was confused. She was torn between two people and did not know what to do or handle it.
She looks down at Ru, [Elven] ”Look at that fat tummy of yours. Did you make a little pig out of yourself?”
She tilted her head and smiles, ”I know, but my hair is still wet,” as she slides the towel off her wet hair. She frowns at the mention of Kree killing nuns. ”Just like Kree. Strike first apologize later,” she murmurs under her breath. At the mention of Tybalt a somber look crosses her face and she felt like she was about to cry again but held her tears in check. The sight of his death would forever haunt her.
She looks at Didier, ”No I am not.” She chuckles, ”Neither. I leave in about an hour to hunt down Guillome.”

Didier smiles back at her, reaches out and gently touches her cheek before bending down and kissing her. His arm sweeps behind her and she feels herself lifted off the ground momentarily as he presses him against her. He lets her down and takes a breath, his face bright with passion. Steadying himself, Didier looks over her shoulder, slowing his breathing and regaining some self control. Still smiling and blushing, he takes a deep breath and changes the subject by telling her about the nuns. He hears her murmer about Kree and doesnt' say anything until Kahvi's face turns somber. He knows she's thinking about Tybalt and does the only thing he can think of, he hugs her for a long moment, stroking her hair and shoulders,Oh, Kahvi, I won't forget him either. She can feel him settling down and he lets go of her, making sure she is steady on her feet doing so. Here, take this,he hands her a blue hankerchief the color of a midnight sky. It is dotted with stars and streaks of white. I can't go with you Kahvi. I'm already pledged to protect and aid Jamie. I know she's going to need me in the morning. I hope to see you again Kahvi. I hope and want....anyway remember the nature of that damn priest and finish him...for all of us.

Didier smiles back at her, reaches out and gently touches her cheek before bending down and kissing her. His arm sweeps behind her and she feels herself lifted off the ground momentarily as he presses him against her. He lets her down and takes a breath, his face bright with passion.
Kahvi felt Didier’s hand on her cheek and then his kiss. Her heart leapt as she felt his arms around her. She had not realized what she was doing as she fell into his embrace and kiss. She softly gasped as she looked at him.
Steadying himself, Didier looks over her shoulder, slowing his breathing and regaining some self control. Still smiling and blushing, he takes a deep breath and changes the subject by telling her about the nuns.
She is silent for a moment as she did not know what to say. Her cheeks flushed slightly as she continued to look at Didier. She had not expected what had just happened and now her mind whirled.
He hears her murmer about Kree and doesnt' say anything until Kahvi's face turns somber. He knows she's thinking about Tybalt and does the only thing he can think of, he hugs her for a long moment, stroking her hair and shoulders, Oh, Kahvi, I won't forget him either.
She felt his hug and rested her forehead on his chest, as tears slowly trickled down the side of her face. ”I told myself I would not cry anymore, but I can not help it. It still hurts.”
She can feel him settling down and he lets go of her, making sure she is steady on her feet doing so. Here, take this, he hands her a blue hankerchief the color of a midnight sky.
She took the handkerchief from Didier and held it to her. Her eyes still wet and she wanted to cry even more, but did not let herself do so. She suddenly felt so scared and did not know why. She reached around her neck removing something from it and puts it around Didier’s neck. It was the gold hawk headed torc with ruby eyes that had belonged to her father. It had been too big for her, but she still wore it anyways. ”Now I will always be with you,” she says to him.

Kahvi can feel a slight trembling in Didier when she placed her father's torc around his neck. He is speechless as she adjusts it and realizes how big it looked on her and how, right it looks on him. His eyes grow wide and deep as he bends down and lifts her to him again, kissing her slow and long.... Bump! she and Didier almost fall over when the door hits them. Ricula is on the other side and hits it again, shouldering her way in, sword out and eyes flaming with anger. Ricula stops when sees there is no danger and that she has startled everyone. The rest of the room is looking up and over at the three of them, Ricula with her sword out standing angrily and now sheepishly in the doorway and Didier and Kahvi scrunched together against the wall. Kahvi is sitting on his hand and forearm leaning into him. He shoves the door closed, easily pushing Ricula out of the way while holding her with no loss of balance or problem at all. Kahvi can't help but feel the flexing muscle and power in his chest and arms and back. Wha! ah, huh um, sorry, I wasn't trying to disturb anyone. It's just when the door didn't open I immediately thought trouble and charged in. I really didn't mean to disturb any of you. I just want to get out of here, get Kahvi and get out. I'm so ready to leave this place.Ricula's voice changes from anger to shock to slight contrition and then steadies and becomes more commanding, Kahvi and I are leaving to hunt Guillome. Edric, I'd like you to come with us, anyone else wants to join is welcome. Edric, Kahvi, we are leaving in five minutes. Ricula asked Edric to come, but her tone and stance made it clear it was a command. She also doesn't expect anyone else to join them. She knows they are Jamie's people.

Kahvi was lost once again in Dider’s embrace and kiss. Her heart felt like it was ready to jump out of her as it raced like crazy. Her mind tried to wrap itself around what was going on.
Bump! she and Didier almost fall over when the door hits them. Ricula is on the other side and hits it again, shouldering her way in, sword out and eyes flaming with anger. She was a bit surprised by the door suddenly pushing into them. When she sees Ricula and then everyone else looking at them, she turns bright red, but also could not help but to giggle at it all.

She looks at Didier and worry crosses her face at Ricula’s sudden tone. She reluctantly slides out of Didier’s hold, ”I will be right back,” she says to him.
She quickly catches up with Ricula, ”Rica what happened with Lord Morwith?” she asks softly so not to be over heard.

Didier lets her go, nodding and letting her know to take her time. He slowly steps away, walking towards the fireplace and expertly blocking everyone's view of Kahvi and Ricula. Out of the corner of her eye she can see him fingering the torc. Ricula's eyes still look sharp and hard, angry and hurt,You will not believe some of the things people have done tonight. This place drives people mad Kahvi. Either that or they came here that way. I found out that Rowan Brightmantle faked his death. And didn't tell his sister, the one your friend Kree loves. She's crushed Kahvi. Why in all the heaven's would he do that? And people wonder why I trust so few people. They also now believe that Morwith's mother died long ago, not tonight. They believe she was just a husk, inhabited by a Rakshasa. They believe that Rakshasa was responsible for much of the trouble that happened tonight. Oh, and if that's not bad enough, Nickerson's men caught and killed two vampires tonight and believe there are still others creeping about the place. That's not counting any number of drow masquerading as servants! Ricula calms down some, her breathing steadies and she looks over at Edric, who has gathered his things and has a sleeping Ru in a sling hanging from his shoulder. Ricula brushes her hair from her face and ties it into a tight braid,I want to leave now Kahvi. The sooner we get into the forest the easier I'll breathe. I think we have a better chance out there than here. There are three others waiting in the hall. I don't know them Kahvi, but they act like they know you. One of them is gnome. She says an Arlia sent them to help you.

Didier lets her go, nodding and letting her know to take her time. He slowly steps away, walking towards the fireplace and expertly blocking everyone's view of Kahvi and Ricula. Out of the corner of her eye she can see him fingering the torc.
Kahvi suddenly felt a bit naked with the torc gone around her neck. She had worn it for so long and now that it was not there she could feel the weight of it gone from around her neck. She just smiled though as she knew where it would be.
Ricula's eyes still look sharp and hard, angry and hurt, You will not believe some of the things people have done tonight. This place drives people mad Kahvi. Either that or they came here that way. I found out that Rowan Brightmantle faked his death. And didn't tell his sister, the one your friend Kree loves. She's crushed Kahvi. Why in all the heaven's would he do that? Oh, and if that's not bad enough, Nickerson's men caught and killed two vampires tonight and believe there are still others creeping about the place. That's not counting any number of drow masquerading as servants!
She listens to Ricula and places a hand on her shoulder comforting her, ”I am sorry Rica things have gotten so out of hand. Someone has gone through great lengths to make this all happen. This just did not happen over night. This was years of planning and placing.”
Ricula calms down some, her breathing steadies and she looks over at Edric, who has gathered his things and has a sleeping Ru in a sling hanging from his shoulder. Ricula brushes her hair from her face and ties it into a tight braid, I want to leave now Kahvi. The sooner we get into the forest the easier I'll breathe. She says an Arlia sent them to help you.
”We will leave in a bit Rica. First you need to calm yourself. Leaving angry only blinds one and when we depart we need to be focused. There are still many enemies hiding about.” She glances at Edric, ”Also I think you need to apologize to Edric and let him know that it is his choice to come or not. You did not exactly ask him Rica.” She tilted her head as she pondered who they could be and then smiled, ”Arila is a friend who helped me out when I was being hunted. Talk to Edric, get something to eat and then gather your things and we will depart.” Normally Ricula was the rational one, but this evening much had happened, along with a few drink, so it seemed her state of mind was a bit frazzled. She could understand fully as not too long ago she was in the same state of mind. She smiles at Ricula and then moves away to let her do what she needed to do, as she makes her way back to Didier.

Ricula's face changes. She doesn't smile, but Kahvi can tell she's getting her anger under control. Suddenly an ugly frown crosses her face, and she touches Kahvi's throat,Your father's Torc! Guillome didn't take it did he? Don't worry Kahvi. We will get it back. We'll find him, kill him and get your father's torc back. She gives Kahvi's shoulder a reaffirming shake before nodding, Yea, you are probably right about Edric, he's not mine to command. I don't know about food, my stomach's too tight for eating now. I'll make certain to take something I can eat. Ricula then heads over to Edric, who was already walking towards them, all his gear ready. Kahvi moves past Edric and he gives her a brief, wan smile. Approaching Didier, who is standing next to the fire, warming himself and slighlty blushing. His friends are already teasing him. She hears the young friar Hamil,First Jamie and Carillo and now you and Ms Moonshade, tsk, tsk, tsk, followed by the others laughter. One of them, Ogmund she believes, nods his head, letting the others know Kahvi was coming and they all hush some, but can't stop grinning and smiling foolishly. She can tell they are all happy for Didier and they welcome her among them, all saying hi and offering drink and pastries. Kahvi hasn't felt this welcome in a long time. The friendly openness of these people reminds her of the gypsies and Shayla. Didier reaches out to her, his arm open enough for to fold into it, or just stand next to him. He's letting her make that decision, not sure how comfortable she is in front of others.

Guillome didn't take it did he? Don't worry Kahvi. We will get it back. We'll find him, kill him and get your father's torc back.
Kahvi shook here head, ”Calm down Rica. No Guillome did not take it. I know exactly where I put it,” as she glances over at Didier.
She smiles at Ricula, ”No, he is not. But he would be more then willing to help you if you ask him. Then be sure to pack something to take with you. I can not have you falling over due to hunger.” As she passes Edric she smiles at him.
Approaching Didier, who is standing next to the fire, warming himself and slighlty blushing. His friends are already teasing him. He's letting her make that decision, not sure how comfortable she is in front of others.
She returns the greetings to those gathered and declines the food and drink, but thanks them for the offer. She does not hesitate as she moves into the folds of Dideir’s embrace.
She tells him what Ricula told her about the meeting with Lord Morwith. ”We will be leaving shortly,” she says. She suddenly realized that she did not want to leave Didier’s side as she has come to terms with her feelings for him. A sudden panic came over her as she realized this, but also how would Edric feel? She knew he has feeling for her. She liked him, but how she felt around him was nothing like how she felt around Didier. Why did this have to happen now, she wondered. She shook the many thoughts away to ponder on them when she had more time. ”Tell Damilon that I will return Tybalt’s things to him when we meet again.”

Ricula follows Kahvi's glance and gasps in surprise and almost blushes, Kahvi! I thought, thought Edric was...well that makes more sense. I'm happy for you. Didier is quite a catch. He is certainly handsome and polite enough, and she gives Kahvi a quick hug just before Edric arrives. He catches her smile. It surprises him and she can tell cheers him too. Kahvi walks into him and he happily folds his arm around her, confirming to everyone how they feel. He bends over and playfully kisses the top of her head. They all sober up when Kahvi starts telling what's happened so far this night. Two of them, Ogmund and Linna, start writing down names and such. Didier tenses when she announces her leaving. He pulls her closer to him, wanting her to stay while knowing she can't. We both have our duties and callings Kahvi. People and oaths we bound ourselves to before we met. Guarding you was part of that oath. I'll fulfill it, as I know you will yours. Yes, I'll tell Damilon, we'll be waiting for you. I most eagerly. Do take care, as will I within the needs of what we must do. He bends down and kisses her again, a long, heartfelt, yearning kiss full of passion and tenderness. Then it's time for her to go. Ricula and Edric are waiting and Ru has wakened, feeling Kahvi's heart and emotions rising. Ru looks at her with sleep fuzzy eyes, wondering what's going on and starts purring in tune with Kahvi's feelings.
