Chapter Summary:

The party of heros enter Jzadirune, a Gnomish lair of antiquity.

They find a captured Goliath who thinks he's a Halfling.. strange...

More Skulks are found.. Invisible.. or cursed?

The party is split. Kelzanarr, Aelonn, Dug, Warryn, Catra on one side, Chad, Pitch, Ditch, Jessica on the other. The later escort the young mage to safety. The others carry on to find the missing children and a way out.

The smaller footsteps belong to the "Creepers". Ambush ensues as they penetrate their lair. A Skulk that looked like Ditch throws a wrinkle in the battle as the dopelganger backstabs Kell in the midsts of battle.

Catra is entranced by a play of gnomish lore. It distracts the party as they look to rest. A Silver dagger is found. An engraved medallion is set into the floor. Dug finally gets an axe. It's rusty, but useable. Dug drops a club which unknownst to him was a cold iron rod.

Retreat back to the barracks to rest. Then travel in a new direction.

Stiffling tunnels cause Catra to become dizzy. Strange sounds and more weird invisibility masks the Pulverizer. Who would have thunk that it knew Gnomish and all Warryn needed to do was to command it. Warryn has a new pet.

Yuathyb, first or second creature to be "Cursed". What causes this elludes the party. With out a cure the party has no bargening chip.... unless they kill the Grell... If they can, the cursed Creeper will show them where the Skulks take the children.

A plan is hatched, a trap is made, and Warryn remembers he can use his pet.


As the look for a way into the Grell's lair, they are reunited with Pitch... and some strangers.

You are all at 999 XP. You'll be Level 2 once you get past the Grell.

Story Point Awards
Warryn extra action point (for the Pulverizer idea and solo kill on one of the creepers ambush.)
Catra, You have a new appreciation for the performing arts. I'm not sure how that plays out yet. Any ideas?
Aelonn, you'll probably get a Craft(net) or Craft(Trap) skill, but waiting to see how effective it is.

After the brief reunion, Aelonn turns back to the two humanoids. "Sorry fer the hostility fellas, but we've learned ya can't be too careful down here. But ya seem like yer on the level, so if yer here to help find the kids, we'd welcome the help.

"Oh and by the way, we think behind that door is a grell monster we promised someone we'd take care of."


Despite being usually a more shrewd reader of people, Aelonn decides to take Veion and the guard at their word without further inquiry.
