To reduce clutter on the story threads, I have just determined to handle all GM dice rolls "behind the scenes". You should still roll for your characters, but I won't do the rolling for NPCs and situations in my posts, I will simply write the results in character.

Also, the game will normally progress at 1-2 posts per day. I have some extra time this week, so I am posting more frequently, but I probably won't be able to continue at this rate. Just FYI.    Like this post

Just so everyone knows, I will be rolling treasure randomly for most encounters. So if you don't get much, blame the dice not me :)    Like this post

I posted a Map of Antupen (LP) so everyone can get a better idea of the geography.    Like this post

Secrets!

Please determine a secret for your character. Something from your character's background that you wouldn't want the other characters to know. Be creative!

Don't post it here, but instead send me a private message and let me know what it is.    Like this post

Rules Change:

You may return to restricted classes after taking levels in another class, but at a penalty of 100XP times your new character level. This pertains to the Paladin and Monk classes, as well as any other class which does not allow you to return to it after taking levels in another class.

So, for example, you level as follows:

1st - Monk
2nd - Monk
3rd - Ranger
4th - Ranger

If you wanted to take Monk for your 5th level, you could, but you would suffer a 500XP penalty.    Like this post

Two important notices:

1. Multi-classing - There are already a few house rules for multi-classing (see the House Rule: XP penalty for multiclassing (LP) thread), primarily making it easier to multi-class. To these I am adding one more:

When you take a level in a new class (one you do not yet have any levels in) it must be justified somehow in a roleplaying context before you gain any of the abilities that go along with that class. If there is a certain class you would like to go into, let me know, and I will put your character in a position where they can "learn" the abilities of the new class.

This rule does not apply to BAB, saves, skill points, or HP...those gains are instant when you level. It only applies to special class abilities and spells. For example: Bob is a Ranger 2, who wants to multi-class into Wizard. He gains the Bab, saves, skills, and HP for gaining a wizard level, but does not get a spellbook automatically, nor can he cast spells until he has a chance to "learn" the class, perhaps by visiting a private library, or tutoring under a wizard for a breif time.

The above rule also does not apply to taking another level in a class you already posess. For example, Bob could take Ranger 3 without any in-game requirements.

2. Playing Multiple Characters -

I have had several people ask me for the chance to play a second character. Up until this point, I have said no. However, I am rethinking that decision, and I will now allow each player to play up to two characters. You may start a second character if you wish, or take over one of those that has been abandon.

You are not obligated to play a second character, if you would rather only play one, that is quite allright.    Like this post

One more note:

To be fair to everyone, I would prefer if everyone would switch to using the secure die-roller instead of the in-post roll tags. If you are having trouble getting the secure die-roller to work, please let me know.    Like this post

Due to it's ever increasing size and my limited time, I am not accepting any new characters to the game (beyond those currently pending). However, I am still accepting new players to take over as replacements for existing characters.    Like this post
