Yeah. Three Vrock vs. one level 9 PC without holy weapons and another with holy weapons entering combat 1-2 rounds later.

Shooka Shooka... Outlook not so good.

Yeah - I know.
I'm hoping the chapel structure can take some of the lightning damage or we just put all of the villagers into a barrel...
Enjoy your vacation

Ok. I'm back. Planned on posting yesterday but I hit the bed as soon as I got home at 8pm and didn't wake up until 8:00 today.

First, I want to thank everyone for putting up with that battle. It was intended to be the final epic confrontation for that chapter, and it obviously was, but still that's a bit much for play-by-post type of game. As things are gathered, items identified, and the town restored, I'll get things posted up in the main thread and individual threads. I will also get experience done, either tomorrow or the next day. I think everyone should be going up a level. Plus everyone should have time to train, and have a little down time, before we move onto the next adventure. So we'll have a small intermission, as we clean things up.

I hope everyone enjoyed it, or at least didn't hate it. I have feared that battle for a long long time, and though I knew it was important and necessary, was seriously concerned how it was to be done. Luckily I think with minimal issue, we got it done. Yeah, it took forever, and I'm sorry about that, but I'm not sure how else it could have been done, and still had the flavor and life that it did.

Personally for myself I was laughing so hard when Vehrah's plan had everyone sticking together, and that lasted just a few rounds and the party was divided up into 3 groups. Still job well done, and well played!

No battle plan survives contact with the enemy. We had a specific strategy worked out, and so did they. It was interesting to watch both plans collapse and evolve. Yeah, it was insanely long, but I rather enjoyed the epic scale of the thing, even towards the end when Vren was completely out of the fight.

So, two thumbs up from me.

Sorry - missed this side post
The battle was grand and epic. Not sure if we could have divined that Vrocks would be involved - or Vanthus.
Our plan would have worked well (I think) for the sorcerer and the pirates. It was the bonus players that got us...
As for sticking together - yeah, that didn't last... :-)

I'm confused about the wand. Assuming it's a wand of Fireballs, I don't think Reach applies, since Fireball is already a long range spell.

True, should have been Enlarge my mistake. Will change in thread.

Not that there is often a need for a range greater than 640 feet (400 feet + 40/caster level). He's right; Reach Spell has no effect on spells that are already long range.

I think what you meant to use was Enlarge Spell (doubles the range for +1 level).

Edit: Never mind.

OOC: Sure there is, if you are pirates and do ship to ship combat, or general ranged bombardment. ;)

OK, gotta admit that when you open up at 400 yards, the list of things anyone can do about it is very damned short.

We are about finished it looks like in the thread. And everyone seems to have or about to finish their characters sheets. If there is nothing else, I'm ready to open a new thread and move on. If you can wrap up the last few details in the old thread, we should be ready to go. I have a killer week(really just two weeks without the time off in between) at work so figure a few more days, till I do anything.

Sounds OK to me. My character sheet is just about up to date, and I don't have immediate plans other than general helping with the cleanup of the town.

All I have hanging fire is the reincarnation, and that shouldn't impact the party or the town much.
