I recieved the following PM today:
CC: fiona
Greetings, I am Mrs Fiona Graham, from Kuwait. I am married to late Mr. Rawlings Graham, who worked as an Oil Well Drilling and mentainance Contractor with several oil Companies in Ivory Coast for Twenty-Six years before he died after a brief illness that lasted for only five days. We were married for Eighteen years with a duaghter (Hannah) who later died in a motor accident. Sad to say that recently, I have been diagnosed with Esophageal and heart cancer that has defiled all forms of medical treatment from different medical experts and the one that disturbs me most is that recently my Doctor told me that I will not live longer due to my heart cancer problem. Having know my condition now I have decided to donate this fund I inheritted from my late husband for humaniterian help. I will like you to contact me back by return mail to my private email address: fiona_graham2002@yahoo.fr to assure me you can handle this fund I want to donate for humaniterial project for the benefit of the less privilaged or ophan children, motherless babies, cancer and aids victims and widows across the globe. I look forward to your prompt response and confirmation of your williness to handle this project with altmost honesty. God Bless Fiona Graham Email: fiona_graham2002@yahoo.fr
This is an obvious scam attempt. Anyone else get one? Can you kill the account it was sent from Bob?

Wow, I feel special. Though I didn't get any spam mail myself, it is nice to see that RPM is big enough to attract the attention of spammer scum. It makes me feel all warm inside. Because RPM is all 100% original code, someone had to write a spamming script just for us!
Account fiona is banned as will be any other account that disturbs the RPM community in this manner. If the problem persists I will take more serious action to prevent spamming.

You know... I have been thinking about this for some time. I wanted to know what others thought?
When the war on terror cut the terrorists off from their bank accounts, I saw a complete cessation of these sorts of spam attacks for a few months.
Then, after the diplomats announced to the world that the terrorists were back up to pre-911 terror. I noticed a lot more spam junk mail trying to steal money.
Could the two be related?
Or did the US government when it froze the funds of terrorists, also catch a few... national scam artists too?
Furthermore, this begs the question. Are the national scam artists working for the terrorists?
Honestly, why would a scam artist need more than a few million dollars to live comfortably anyway? Unless they are actively working for the bad guys.
oh I probably watched conspiracy theory one time to many, but I wanted to know if anyone else noticed that.

Nah, they're just greedy.
I think that all these types of letters actually come from the U.S. government. We're so badly in the red that they'll take any thing they can get to fill the hole, even if it means bilking their own citizens and blaming it on other countries.

fun! oh this reminds me, a few months ago there was a lot of road construction where they were digging up on one side of the road, 3' round pipe laying pipe or something in, but what was being put in looked like a big hinge on top of the pipe, then they were filling it in, and then they would dig up the other lane o the road exact same spot and put more tubes in.
They were doing this in multiple sections of the road, in groups of 3.
So, Loneknight and I came up with a couple of fun 'theories' as to what they were actually doing.
Skald: Drainage for the road and river that goes down the hillside?
Loneknight: too much digging and such a big project for that, besides they already have those big ones.
Skald: I know! It's gotta be new DSL lines their installing under the road so that it can cross the road without interference.
LoneKnight: All that trouble? Just DSL lines? And to where?! There's nothing up that hill!
Loneknight: I know, they're personal nuclear capsules, people run to them when there's a terror threat.
Skald: Only a child could fit in a 3' wide container like that.
Loneknight: It will fit a small human, the race of mankind will survive!
Skald: I got it better, they're actually nuclear and radioactive waste containment capsules hidden under the road. They're out of the way, and we saw how much cement was poured over them.
Loneknight: In the middle of nowhere? Hey what if the grass dies off or the road washes out? There will be chemical waste all over the countryside!
Skald: It makes sense though! Everyone passing through is in a car! Minimum exposure at the most, it's more than 5 miles from any local residential population even on a bad traffic day, at the most it's a 10 minute wait, and even though everyone travels daily, It's only a what? 5 minute exposure thing?
Loneknight: But, it would be too dangerous, the government would never do it, the lawsuits involved would bankrupt the government.
Skald: Okay, so they're not toxic containment units... I know what they are.
LoneKnight: You do?
Skald: Yep, they're surface to air defense rockets hidden in small bunkers on the hill disguised to resemble drainage pipes.
Loneknight: If they are, how would they fire them? they'd go straight into the side of the road.
Skald: The road is on a hill, even with the pipes below it, we still have plenty of open sky beneath that, and tracking systems, they launch and change tragectory to go up and away at a curve. And it's all farm land, at worst they'd hit a cow and blow away part of a road that barely has any travel.
Loneknight: You win, that's the best one, and I can't think of better.
