I modified a few tiles from the public libraries to create my own tile set (which is shared, as is the map, if you want to check it out). I am now to the point where I am ready to add characters and monsters to the map, but I was hoping to use something with transparent backgrounds so the floor tiles will show through. I have seen combat maps where people enter the text right on the map, but I do not see how to do this. Can someone help me? I have Adobe Elements as an image editor but am a total newbie at best. snarf     cobaltvector Dungeonkeeper 3/24/2008 1:28:38 PM PostID: 213543 I use Gimp 2.2 (it's free to download if you are interested) so I don't know if this will help or not. To get tiles with transparent backgrounds I change the color the of background layer to that of the alpha-channel and draw (or paste) on that. I'd imagine that Adobe has similar process. I finally figured it out in Adobe.
