To be honest the whole levels/experience thing is a bit of a mystery to me because I have never played these rules before. I inherited Nauri but his character sheet doesn't say what his level is. He does have 3200xp, level 3 I guess. In the games I played previously progression was measured by achievement (and perhaps a little aquisition). I have earned a few xp's as Nauri since I started playing him and I am keeping track of them, but I'm not sure if im supposed to do anything with it - do you all keep track of your xp?

Yes. I keep track of my XP. As for level, with 2E DnD, each class has a different level progression.
Level::XP For a Fighter 1 :: 0 2 :: 2,000 3 :: 4,000 4 :: 8,000 5 :: 16,000 6 :: 32,000 7 :: 64,000 8 :: 125,000
If Nauri is 3rd level, 3200xp is wrong. You'll need at least 4000xp to be 3rd. "The god of death shall rise again but for now. I need some sleep... "

In that case he is level 2, thanks for the table that's useful.

Lol, this is random. But I always laugh when I see Fayt noisily stomping towards Yeali because of stealth roll

hehe..yeah. I'm either failing miserably on my stealth checks or passing with uncanny success. Most of the fails are not in critical situations though, so not as bad as it could be. "The god of death shall rise again but for now. I need some sleep... "

It seems to be a trend in this game then, you either fail miserably or succeed genially. So far I don't think I have ever gotten something like a 10 in a d20.
Which is why the last battle was won thanks to the monk NPC. I wasn't the only one getting low numbers. Sometimes we dig an early grave and crucify our instincts, for the hope we couldn't save...

There was one situation where I managed to get enough distance from Fayt and the rest of the group, and rolled successfully on my Move Silently and Hide in Shadow checks.
Because I was far enough from the group, I got up on the enemy I had located earlier without them noticing and got to use my special Stalker kit ability.
I swooped in with my rapier and stiletto, if I had hit with both attacks. I could've killed two in the surprise round. But I rolled miserably on both rolls. "The god of death shall rise again but for now. I need some sleep... "

BEHOLD!!! The gracious, kind, creative, maniacal (and exhausted) DM has returned.....you all have been busy chatting I see :) An earlier post mentioned something about 50+ posts to read through, but don't worry- I read very fast. (it said around 42 posts new or so :) )
Chii As to combining the groups, or who is left from Day 1--- I really am making this up with only a basic plot...or 4 of them, though tangents across threads are certainly possible...everything else is PC driven (SO ASK QUESTIONS!!! :) ) If there's a chance some of the groups get together again, it could very well happen, though only for a bit---- a battle is hard enough with only 4 or 5 PCs let alone 10-15!!! Not sure I get the references re Sailor Moon, but I'll chalk that up to my age and perhaps gender :)
Jeff I think you can read about what happened to Sober in the 'Tangents' folder- bear in mind, he's not a vampire, and he's still learning about what he can/can't do. I'm fine with meta-gaming to a degree since if we were around a table, there's no way socially you could prevent hearing about it. Stuff directly to any PC here can be PM'd (and I do it a lot) as compared to a table, where we may leave for 30 minutes plus!!! The whole story to date is under "Ye Old Stuff" --- I believe they should all be open if folks want to read. Also- the Fighter XP is in the Player Hand Book in the RAR file of LOE books in the Helpful Links Thread. :)
LOL at Lord Omega description of how they met Sibera :) I really am making this up, so there's no plot fragging so far with the Going Up group. They have a long way until they get out of the library, but you never know....
Nuglas You're in a lower group so will be starting at 1 if I recall correctly; with Aurora and Mardun--- need to check...)
Sounds like folks are having fun, which is of course, the main reason I like to think we're here :) Glad to be back---- watch for more posting likely this eve
I think that was most of the questions here...off to read some posts....

Just a little survey.
When it comes to psionics, there are a few versions that have appeared in DnD, from 1E to 4E.
1E: My memory might be off, and I don't won't to dig up my 1E books. But any character can have psionics. You rolled a d100 with only like 1% or 2% chance to have psionics. If you do have psionics, then it was only 1 or 2 powers. Usually the core powers: Telepathy, Telekinesis, Clairvoyance.
2E: This edition had two systems. The original being the Complete Psionics Handbook, which introduced the Psionicist class. The the Optional system intoduced in the Skills & Powers book. Converting the system to be more like the standard DnD combat system. Using MTHAC0 and MAC.
3.0 & 3.5: Completely changed the psionics system and psionic powers and classes more like spell casters.
4E: Just got the PHB 3, so still learning the new psionic system.
Of the different systems, which to you fellows prefer? Or do you prefer no psionics?
My Personal Opinion: 1E: My top choice. I like the view that psionics was something someone was born with and instead of focusing on a pure psionics class, it becomes another tool for whatever class you select to go with.
2E: Of the two options provided in this edition, I like the Skills & Powers version of Psionics. Though I do dislike that some of the powers looked like spells instead of psionics.
3.0 & 3.5: I really hated that they turned psionics into just another spellcaster. Psionics should be treated differently.
4E: Don't really know enough about the changes in 4E until I get a chance to play a psionic class and give it a test run. "Trouble with you Elven girls is that your desire to do it is in inverse proportion to your willingness to talk about it."

I prefer version 3/3.5, Complete Psionics handbook. I also like to play with the option that psionics and magic are not the same. i.e. a dispel magic will not dispel psionic affects and vice versa. By using this option psionics is not like magic (we'll in the game world anyway despite the mechanics being close to identical).

I guess, my views of psionics are a little more hard core than most. I've always had a strong view toward psionics. In school, at two points, I actually was allowed to do two different research reports on psionics. One when I was in 6th grade, and one when I was in 11th grade.
And for a short time, I was very close to going to Duke University to major in Parapsychology. Focusing on Psionic research instead of Ghost. I might have done that too, but I couldn't afford to go to Duke without getting hugely in debt with student loans. I had the grades and the SAT/ACT scores to get in, just not the money. Not sure how to add you to the Meepo buddy list though. Doesn't seem to be an option. Though it does have all the people I have on my buddy list on my AOL account but under my AOL Screenname. Go to Meebo.com (or ICQ etc) and add them-- they show instantly.. :)
Your list here also only shows those com's which you've signed into. As soon as I signed off ICQ, those 'friends' vanished from the list here.

Hi all- As a reminder, I'll be back on VC Fri Jul 31 to the Sat of Aug 7. The good news is that the place I'm going to this time does have an internet connection. Whether I'll have time to post with WAK and extended family is another story.... -Z
