was just going through a few old games, then i got to Ansular Realms... good times, i'm just mentioning it to see if anyone else remebers that game as fondly as i do, and the idle thought came to me... what ever happened to Slayer (the GM) and if he's still around would he consider running a new game in the smae setting...? i still loved Elkaas's (the later of my 2 characters) party, so dysfunctional. i mean come on: a polite dwarf Knight with a book of grudges, that is a member of a dwarven mage clan, a rouge with multiple personalities, an inscrutable Grumpy old wizard, and a pair of increasingly paranoid psions. none of us getting along all at the same time, and yet still managing to survive. now that has to be one of the best RPs stints i've ever done.
You are not your magic weapon and armor. You are not your spell buffs. You are not how much gold you have, or how many times you've been raised from the dead. When a Big Bad Demon snaps your sword in two, you do not cry because that was your holy avenger. You leap onto its back, climb up to its head, and punch it in the eye, then get a new damn sword off of the next humanoid you headbutt to death.

According to the user directory, slayer97531 last logged in May 10th of 2010, so I doubt he's still around. You can send him a PM and he might get an email notification of it if a) he did not change his setting to receive emails when he got a PM and b) he is still using the same email address he registered with.

While I was not in the Ansular Realms game, I too have a dead game that I remember fondly: Apotheosis run by August, who went MIA in 2008. He had a large number of players which resulted in a wide variety of interesting characters, interweaving storylines, an evolving plot and great, great roleplayers. I'd jump back into that game without any hesitation what-so-ever if he were to return. Ah, good times... =)

These are the cries of the carrots, the cries of the carrots!
You see, Reverend Maynard, tomorrow is harvest day and to them it is the holocaust.

There were a number of good characters in Ansular Realms. Definitely a game that I'd like to see come back.
Welcome To Class Real

alas slayer is gone i think... i'd try to start a game of a similar style, but my skill as a story tell is... lacking, at least in the GMing department

I too fondly remember Apotheosis. It's what got me back into roleplaying and was what finally gave me the motivation to take the idea of RPM and turn it into an actual site.
