Whenever I try to create a map, any changes I make don't save. Any suggestions?

Make sure your browser is set to http://www.roleplaymarket.com. If it doesn't have the www. then the mapper won't work right.

Beware that the current version of the mapper has a few pesky bugs. A new advanced mapper is under development and should be released soon.

Adding the "www" worked perfectly. Thank you!

All of the images of the maps in my library (and all the public libraries for that fact) are broken. Is this a problem that's unique to me or is anyone else having the same problem?

At this point the old mapper is "use at your own risk!". I fear I've broken it beyond repair in my efforts to finish the new mapper (still coming Real Soon Now (tm)). Sorry!

I'm working on getting some information together for my game before recruiting. What is a current work around for the maps until the new mapper comes online.

This is a great resource. I'm enjoying everything so far. I have no real issues as a player but starting my own game I find there's not alot of information on how to setup maps and things like that.

Any GM tutorial/helpful info would be great.

For my game and to make it simple, I just create a spreadsheet map, convert it to a png image file. Then upload it to an image thread. It takes less then a minute to update the combat map and usually less than 2 minutes to originally make the combat map.

I have used the map feature on RPM for a long time, but have been using Paint, the base map, then adding the various characters and monsters as necessary, then uploading it to photobucket and using image tag. Since the map and characters are all separate files, I just continue to cut and paste as necessary. Never tried the spread sheet approach LordOmega mentioned, but that sounds like a good idea too.

BobTHJ,

Thought I'd see how its going with the "new mapper (still coming Real Soon Now (tm)" feature. I really miss using the cool mapping feature on RPM. Inquiring and despondent minds would love to know!

Thanks,

A humble member of RPM

As you may have noticed, I haven't been around much lately :(

My cushy desk-job that paid full-time salary for 10 hours/week worth of work came to an end last fall and I started a new business which has kept me working 80+ hours a week. A few months ago the pace has slowed to a more manageable state, but by that point I was so far behind on all my other responsibilities I had a lot of catching up to do. I had to prioritize the list of things to catch up on, and RPM naturally had to fall behind income-producing activities (my other business) and family responsibilities (home improvement projects, etc.). I've been steadily working my way through this list and hope to be able to resume work on RPM and other hobby projects (FantasyQuest?) Real Soon Now (tm).

TLDR: Mapper isn't any further done than it was last fall, but I hope to have time to work on it again before long.
